Thw women and children of The Women's Treatment Center, as evidenced in this issues's feature stories, had a joyous and plentiful holiday season, thanks in no small part to the efforts of TWTC's friends and benefactors.

We'd like to give special acknowledgement for the efforts of Karen and William Fisher this holiday season. In June, 1999, Karen and Bill lost their son to cancer. During his final hospital stay, the people of St. Barnabas Church, along with his parents, went to great lengths to dress up his hospital room to provide and atmosphere of comfort and cheer. Since their son's passing, the Fishers have made it their practice to make a special room for other children in need at Christmastime. This year, they created a fabulous playroom at Madison Place, where the children of TWTC's mothers in transitional living, along with the children of the PACT program, could revel to their hearts content.

Others supported us by making Lion King
fundraisers not only a sellout, but by exceeding our goals by $10.000, and providing an extraordinary theatre experience for women and children for whom such outings are all too rare.

Still others remembered the children of TWTC with Christmas gifts, giving them the kind of Christmas every child dreams about. We are especially grateful to Andrea S. Kramer, Chairperson of TWTC's Board of Directors, who every year has a holiday party where guest bring gifts for the children at TWTC. Again this year, Ms. Kramer and her friends outdid themselves.

And, last, but not least, a special thanks to Lauren Verdich of Third Coast Marketing, for all the hard work and special attention she gives to The Women Treatment Center during this Year.

Here's to a prosperous and happy New Year form all of us.
