Kraft Employees Renew TWTC Funding<
The Leadership Council of the Kraft Employee Fund (KEF) has awarded $40,000 to TWTC's extended daycare program for working mothers. The program supports women in our Recovery Home who are returning to the workforce as they continue treatment.
This is the second year KEF has financially support this vital program. The fund was established in 1998, in response to Kraft employees' desire to actively help those who are economically disadvantaged and to become more personally involved in Òmaking good things happen close to home.Ó
The Fund is a workplace-giving program supported by contributions from Chicago area Kraft employees and retirees. Kraft Foods, Inc. supports KEF through annual financial contributions. The company also absorbs KEF's administrative costs.
The Kraft Employee Fund addresses five areas of critical need in the greater Chicago area: hunger, domestic violence, child care, delinquency and substance abuse prevention, and the tutoring and mentoring of at-risk youth.
TWTC has expressed its gratitude for the grant award.
TWTC Adopts a New Logo!
Among substance abuse professionals and governmental agencies, The Women's Treatment Center has a stellar image as a premier agency with comprehensive substance abuse programs for women -- particularly those with children. Now, the agency is developing that image on another front.
"We decided that we wanted a logo that reflected our unique emphasis on mending the bond between mothers and children that so often is severed by substance abuse," explained TWTC Executive Director, Dr. Jewell Oates.
The new logo features symbols of mother and child, depicting a nurturing relationship.
