Bridging Communities Offender Reentry Program (BCORP)
Rejoining the community after serving a prison sentence can be tough. BCORP offers hope, encouragement, and support for women making that transition.
The program targets adult women with substance abuse histories who are within three months of release from the IDOC Lincoln and Decatur Correctional Centers and Fox Valley Work Transitional Center who will be returning to the city of Chicago/Cook County.
A comprehensive risk and needs assessment helps them set goals and plan for successful re-entry into the community. Case management and employment services are also provided.
Case Management Services
Case managers and professional counselors connect clients with diverse community service providers, including the Illinois Department of Corrections, Department of Human Services, and Department of Children and Family Services. Participants receive four weeks of empowerment sessions which address mental health, housing, employment, and child welfare needs.

Securing stable employment can be difficult for convicted felons. BCORP prepares women to meet this challenge by enhancing job readiness and providing extensive coaching and referral services.
