"MEET THE STARS" 15th ANNIVERSARY GALAMay 4, 2006
The "Stars" Gala was held on May 4, 2006 at The Chicago Hilton and Towers. Merri Dee, Director of Community Relations for WGN-TV, was our Honorary Chairperson. TWTC celebrated its 15th Anniversary with 300 guests. The event included a reception, dinner, live and silent auctions, and a program that will include awards to our "STARS". TWTC was honored to have Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Chicago City Treasurer Judy Rice join us.
The Women's Treatment Center (TWTC) has hosted "Meet the Stars of The Women's Treatment Center" for the last four years to honor the ladies who, upon completing treatment, have gone on to create bright new futures for themselves and their families. This year, TWTC honored 11 women who have gone on to accomplish wonderful goals, such as purchasing homes, completing educational and job training programs, securing good jobs, and securing custody of their children.
TWTC proudly presented our second annual "Angel Award", which honors a philanthropist, to The Mazza Foundation. One of Chicago's premier philanthropic organizations, The Mazza Foundation contributes to every facet of life in Chicago - from schools to work, children to families, health care to social services, and to our city's great cultural institutions. The Mazza Foundation is one of TWTC's greatest supporters. With the generosity of The Mazza Foundation, we have been able to maintain Nana's Crisis Nursery, a 24/7 facility caring for infants while their mothers go through our detox program or have a medical crisis and cannot take care of their children.
TWTC raised over $57,000 after expenses at the 2006 Stars Gala. TWTC is grateful to its many supporters who enabled us to make this Gala such a success.
